Arinsal
The 'Ciber C@fe' opened its doors in September of last year and they're going strong. They have now got 4 PC's which are all very fast. They also have a scanner and fax available as well as a camera for Chat and live video.

Internet access from Ciscos in the centre of town is possible.

No Internet access yet, but they've just installed a email/cam facility at the Tourist Office so you can take a photo of yourself and send it to your mates (Nikki Hanson adds - pretty damn handy as it's located outside the nightclub so you can also take pictures of who you've pulled at 3 in the morning for an "out of 10" rating for your mates!)

St Anton
MailBox is a dedicated Internet Cafe in town with eight terminals located on the high street. Membership 19 Euros, Members pay 0.14 Euros per minute, Non members pay 0.14 Euros per minute, Printing costs 0.14 Euros per minute, Kids pay 0.10 Euros per minute. The Mailbox also runs an Internet Laundry in the Versalla Shopping Mall which runs on a card system and is a little cheaper to use.

Zell am See
There is an Internet Cafe in the centre of town. Email or tel 06542 47103

CANADA

Banff
There's one in Banff in the shopping mall at the north end of town. It costs arount 8 dollars per hour/5 per half-hour and they are only coin operated kiosks.  The Banff Travellers Inn also offers an internet terminal for their guests. 

Cyber Web is Banff's only full-service internet cafe. They offer refreshments, assistance and locals deals. Our regular rates are $8.00/ph, $5.00 per half and $5.00 per hour after 9:30pm.

Jasper
The Mount Robson Inn in Jasper, Alberta, Canada has plans to offer internet service to their guests and will have the service up and running by June 2000. The price has not yet been set.   The De'd Dog Pub is located in the Astoria Hotel and has three internet computers in the bar. The fee is Can$3.00 for a half hour.

Whistler

Whistler village has 4 or 5 pay-per-use cyber access points, including the 'Cookie Co' (where you can have great cookies while you type!!).  It costs $1 for 10 minutes.  The library in Whistler is free but you have to book.  Renoir's Winter Garden offers its guests unlimited access to the internet via an ADSL/proxy connection.  The Idlywood Inn and Tantalus Lodge also offer internet access to its guests.

Jodys is a new internet company that provides everything from web design and graphic design
to email and internet access.

FRANCE

Alpe d'Huez
Crowded House has 4 cyber cafe terminals.
The Freeride Bar near the Ice Rink features three terminals in the basement (take slide or stairs!).  The cost is 50ff a half hour or 80ff the hour.  The Zulu bar also has access as does the Crystal Club Hotel the Vallee Blanche.
Also possible is the Disjonteur Bar (04 7611 3134), Hôtel Belle Aurore* (0479077470), Bar Indiana* (0479077470) and the HIGHLANDER* ('0479077452).

Bourg d'Oisons
Café des 2 Mondes* (0479000162) in the centre of town and Camping ala Rencontre du Soleil* (0492242702) both have France Telecom internet access.

Bourg St Maurice
The Vallée Haute*(0479000106) in the middle of the town has a France Telecom terminal.

Chamonix
There's a new internet cafe called I-Guest [take a look] with friendly service and good value for money in Galerie Blanc Neige, Rue Dr Paccard (sort of opposite the Patagonia shop). They have English and French keyboards and 12 terminals. They are very flexible and you can hook up a laptop as well. Prices start at 50ff ph and decrease the more time you buy, which can by card and is charged by the second. Call on 04 50 55 98 58 or mail them

The Office Bar in Argentiere (0 50 54 15 46) also offers access as does the Vagabond (04 50 53 15 43) near Chamonix Sud and the Terrasse and The Pub* (04 79 00 04 98) in the centre of town.

The CyBar in the Rue des Moulins has 15 terminals, permanent 128bps connection, printer, scanner, laptop connection and digital camera. The opening times are 1000-0130 and the charges are half a franc a minute. Contact them by phone (04 50 53 64 80) or email.

Chatel
There is now a public internet connection at the Tourist Office which may be used with a phone card between 0830 and 1900 each day. There are also similar terminals in Le Tunnel bar and the Avalanche (spectacularly located in a piste-basher bubble).
The Hotel Le Lion d'Or* also apparently has a France Telecom terminal.

Courchevel
Webski (take a look) is located next to the Hotel Olympic on the way into 1850.  They have six terminals and a varied price structure.  'Happy Web' is from 10am to 1pm and is 50ff per hour.  Otherwise for workers it's 30ff for 15mins, 50ff for 30 and 90ff for an hour.  There's also a heavy user discount, colour printer, scanner and permanent 64bps access.  Mail or call them on 04 7901 0101.

Prends Ta Luge in the Forum Centre in 1850 is a surf-type shop.  They have one PC and the prices are 20ff for up to 10mins, 40ff up to 30 and 60ff up to an hour.  It's a pretty cool place with a bar and shop as well.  The Crystal Club Hotel New Solarium (take a look) also has Internet access using a France Telecom phone card.

In 1650 the new Bubble Bar has two terminals with a good ISDN connection (take a look). The Bar L'ALAMBIC* also has a France Telecom connection.

Crest Volland
The hotel Hôtel Les Bartavelles* has a France Telecom terminal.

Flaine
The Diamant Noir internet cafe will have four terminals this winter, although prices will still be high at around 50ff per hour.

Grenoble
The Neptune* (0476639418) on Rue Bayard is a well-equipped cyber cafe with over 20 terminals.

La Clusaz
The Cafe Inn in the centre of town has internet access. Pub le Salto (04.50.63.37.01) in La Clusaz, beside the Cret de Merle ski lift in the centre of the village has a France Telecom terminal.

La Grave
Both the Café Le Glacier* and Pub O'Neil* (also serves Guinness) have internet terminals.

La Plagne

Les Arcs
There is a CyBar at Chez Boubou in Arc 1800.  They have 3 PCs. The Red Hot Saloon* in 1800 (0479077452) and Le Bowling* (0479072171) both have internet access as well.

In 1600 Le Chalet de Larcelle* (0479077470) and the Boule de Neige* (a typical restaurant/bar at the bottom of the slopes) both have France Telecom terminals.

In Vallandry, the Bar Mont Blanc (0479079234), 100m above the village, has an internet terminal. The bar is ski in, ski out on the side of 'piste aigle'.

Les Deux Alpes
Secret Bar has two terminals situated at the back of the bar.
Smokey Joes
has 4 PCs available from 8am every day (Full English Breakfast also served from 8am), English & French keyboards, Scanner and Colour Printing facilities, fast (128kbps) digital connection. Prices 4€ for 15 mins, 6.5€ for 30 mins & 10€ for 1 hour. Discounts for seasonaires available.

The Crystal Club Hotel Tessa, the Snow Pub* (0476790983), Pub O'Brian* (0476795594) and Boule de Neige* all also have internet access. The Red Frog has recently added an internet connection.

Les Menuires
Hotel le Skilt* ('0479007654) and La Sphère* (0479007693) both have France Telecom terminals.

Les Orres
Hôtel les Arolles* (0492440127) is the only place we know of.

Megève
The Bar des Alpes next to the post office is the only place we know of in town. Although we understand that Rosie Creve-Coeur* on Route E. de Rothschild also has a terminal plus 'an amazing original aviators' atmosphere'. Action Marketing in Combloux is planning to install five terminals and wi-fi access in front of the tourist office for the 2008/09 season.

Meribel
Evolution, a bar next to the chaudanne where they also have a fax, printing and other office facilities. Access is also free during the interseason.
The CyBar (take a look) at the Taverne pub is in the centre of town.  They offer a digicam service as well as Internet access.  There are 6 terminals and you pay in advance at the bar, then take the code you are given downstairs and log on.  Mail them or call +33 617 744373.

There is one terminal which takes credit cards at the Tourist Office.  The Rond Point (take a look) has two PCs and Magic in Motion can sometimes be tempted to let you pay to use their computer.The new restaurant Oasis down in the Chaudanne has 3 terminals (season 2004-2005).

Meribel-Mottaret
Both the Hotel Le Mottaret* and the Hameau Apartments* have internet terminals as does the Sports House Cafe in the centre of town (0479085684).

Morzine
The Dixie bar has two PCs available for Internet Access. The Sherpa also has a France Telecom terminal that takes phone cards.

The Yodelnet C@fe" has
8 PCs, fax service, Juice bar, cappucino, games, daily newspapers, job notice boards and more.

The Office has a great vibe and ideal for downloading those ski/board snaps and videos onto facebook!! Clears the memory for some more riding footage

Moutiers
If you can get down the valley the Tresor Public building in Moutiers (behind the station near Caves de Tarentaise) is a great find.   There's a community centre with one PC with internet access.   More are planned and there are introductory sessions for new users. At only 30ff per hour it's also very cheap.

Pralognon
The Tourist Office* (0479087488), next to the swimming pool, has a terminal as does the Bar Bochor* in the centre of town.

Puy St Vincent
Le Tire Bouchon*, a bar at the bottom of the slopes has a France Telecom terminal.

Serre Chevalier
The Grotte de Yeti in Villeneuve has free wi-fi. The Pere Noel in Villeneuve offers Internet access as does the Office du Tourisme*. In Chantemerle, the Irish pub O'Sullivans* or the Underground* (0492242702) are your best ports of call. Alternatively you could try the Hotel Frejus* (0479007654) who also have a terminal.

Tignes
The Lavachet Lounge has internet access and Tc's has wifi and free internet terminals for customers.
The Crystal Club Hotel Curling has Internet access. There are also around 15-20 terminals in the Tignes Espace sports center. However feedback suggests that the connection is not that great at 50ff per hour ro 200ff for a 10 hour card. Also have a digital video, printer and scanner.

Pub Les Arelles* (0479043568) and Evo 2* both have France Telecom terminals. In Val Claret try the Robaz Café with 1 PC. Screen is on the wall in view of everyone in bar though!

The real gem is the Maison des Saisonaires in between Lavachet and Le Lac. Take your worker's contract along and you get free use of library and internet! Can be busy though.

Val d'Isre
Powdermonkey is the established Internet Cafe in Val (take a look). It is in Le Galerie des Cimes next to the Melting Pot restaurant, directly opposite the main bus station. Service is friendly and they are very flexible. Mail for more details or call on 04 79 06 62 29.  They offer a discount for members of the Club des Saisonniers.

Mediathèque- for subscribers only, 15 days costs just 5€. A six month period costs just 10€. Located opposite the church. Tel: 04 79 40 18 48

La Gourmandine – on the Rond Pont des Pistes, at only 5€ for one hour, this is one of the cheapest internet cafés on resort.

Free wifi is available at many of the pubs such as the Moris, Warm Up Café, Quicksilver Coffee Shop, Le Pub and Dick’s T Bar.

Val Morel
La Maison de Val Morel* (ie the tourist office) has France Telecom terminal.

Val Thorens
The Viking bar has three terminals. There is also a single terminal in the tourist information building in Val Thorens. It uses a credit card swipe for access. Alternatively you can try the Choucas* (04 79 00 04 98) or Gringos cafe* (0479000161).

Valloire
The Hotel Touring* (0476590056) in the centre of town has a France Telecom terminal

* France Telecom terminals from Neptune Internet Services. You need a Telecarte to use them and the costs are: 20ff for 15mins, 35ff for 35mins, 60ff for 1 hour, 100 for 2 hours, 200ff for 5 hours.

ITALY

Cervinia
There's dial up internet access at The Yeti Bar.

Cortina
There is a sort of Internet Cafe (2 PCs) situated in the centre of Cortina on the Largo Posta.  It's cheap, costing approx 5000 Lira per half hour.

Livigno
The Crystal Club Hotel Teola has Internet access.

Sauze d'Oulx
The Sporting Club Valsusa in town offers access.

NEW ZEALAND
Queenstown
There are loads of Internet cafés all over the place, costing around $6 per hour. Most have happy hours during unpopular periods. The quickest and cheapest is House of Travel, just off Shotover St, but it only has 5 computers. Of the biggies, Internet Outpost on Shotover St is popular but Budget Communications in the shopping mall is cheaper.
SCOTLAND
Ballater (close to The Lecht)
Cybernaut (www.cybernaut.org.uk) is close to both The Lecht and Glenshee, in the Cairngorm mountains.

SWITZERLAND

Champery
The Farinet has five PCs and is open every day from 1500 to 2330. Call them on 024 479 2375

There is one internet café at Salomonstation and one in Yousthhotel Engelberg

Geneva Airport
There are numberous terminals around the airport

Grindelwald
Both the Schudel Ernst Photo Shop (033- 853 2020) and the Hotel Eiger offer internet access.

Morgins
There is an internet cafe at the Centre des Sports (024 477 1992)

T Bar has free WiFi access for customers

St Moritz
The Bobby Pub has two terminals

Verbier
Try the Pub Mont Fort for Internet access.  Although the service is not very welcoming, Harold's Hamburgers offer three iMacs.  They charge 5sf for 15mins or you can buy ten sessions for 35sf.

There's also an Internet café at the Centre Sportif (which doesn't smell like Harolds). They are secured PCs, driven with NetShift Software that ensures privacy.

Wengen
The tourist office offers access for CHF5 per 15 mins.

Zermatt
There's one PC available for hire in the stylish setting of a red London telephone box, located at the Hotel Post. The Matterhornhostel also has access.
The Brown Cow on the main street, it has two PCs, and costs 5chf for 15 minutes. Murphys Bar (opposite the church on the other side of the river) has 1 PC, and costs 8chf for 15 minutes. The Pipe (in between the church and the river) has 1 PC, and costs 8chf for 15 minutes.

USA
Aspen, CO
There's free use of the Internet at the library.

Breckenridge, CO
Try the Mountain Java cafe.  Hock's Nest Rentals offer free internet access to all of their guests as does Crystal Chalet Northstar.

Alpine Internet is a new internet cafe with not only a T1 connection, ten 17" monitor PCs, web cams, cd burners et al but also a great atmosphere, good tunes and good coffee! Phone them on 970-547-5164 or mail them

Frisco, CO
The Frisco Lodge offers guests free internet access and also has an internet cafe for anyone not staying here. The connection is highspeed (512K) and there are three terminals in the Cafe as well as one in the lodge. Email them or check the website.

Jackson, WY
Internet access is available at Teton County Library.

South Lake Tahoe, CA
The Tahoe Valley Lodge is just next door to the Oakweb Internet Cafe which rents Internet time for a nominal fee (Call 530-542-4209 or email them).   Floppy's (530-541-3737) has 3 terminals and offers free access to internet. They are located 6 miles from the center of town, but CdS members can get 20% off taxi fares.  Vikings can lend out their PC during quiet periods.

Steamboat Springs, CO
The Harmony Ranch offers access, although only to guests. The Crystal Chalet Spruce Lodge has Internet access. Geeks Garage is
a Cybercafe / Coffee House with 6 computers, LAN connections for laptops and (allegedly) the best lattes in town.

Stowe, VT
The HobKnob Inn advises that there is a web cafe located at Stowe Mountain Resort on the ski slopes.  Stowe Mountain Resort offers a Web Cafe for its guests, located in the Octagon Lodge atop Mt. Mansfield (Vermont's highest peak).  Powershift is located on lower Main Street (Route 100) and offers access to the public (tip-off from Green Mountain).  The rates are $6 a 1/2 hour or $10 for an hour.  They are open during the day, but they ask people to call ahead, 802-253-6287.

Telluride, CO
The Victorian Inn advises that here are two public internet access points in Telluride - The Wilkinson Public Library (970-728-6613) and the Steaming Bean (970-728-0220).  The Hotel Columbia offers e-mail and the use of any programs as a free service to guests on the office computer.

Vail, CO
Stylishly, Vail has a free internet cafŽ on the mountain.  High Country Access offers internet access at two cafes in town, Covered Bridge Coffee and Fresh Tracks Cafe.   They charge 15 cents/minute for access and the machines take most credit cards and notes. Dot Cafe is a new venture opening for the 01/02 season. Situated in West Lionshead Plaza, it has ten work-stations with Pentium III 1 GHZ computers with 256MB RAM, 8MB Video Card, LCD/TFT Flat Screen monitors, Windows XP software
with broadband access.

Winter Park, CO
The library in Fraser offers internet access for free. 
The Crystal chalet Sundance also offers Internet access.
