Whether going for a season or a week, if you're on the mountain - you need to be insured (the alternative is the risk of a very big bill).

You also need to make sure that you’re covered for everything you need cover for – you should also make sure your policy covers any activities you might take on in the mountains, such as parapenting, tobogganing, bob-sleighing and off-piste skiing/snowboarding.

Seasonal Insurance
Anyone heading out without a job or wanting to top up your employer insurance should get seasonal insurance, which is available for periods up to 6 months away. For those with employer insurance, make sure you check the details of what is included as certain activities may be excluded such as the snowpark, heliskiing or off piste. Please note that if you are working, seasonal insurance policies do not include any injuries you may incur while you are working.

Ski Insurance have a small price advantage, but the new policy from the Ski Club of Great Britain provides cover for a wide range of wintersports activities as standard, including off-piste skiing and snowboarding with the option to upgrade cover for personal belongings and ski equipment (subject to T&Cs, restrictions and exclusions).

Annual Multi-Trip Insurance
Experienced and regular riders should get an Annual Policy - one policy covers every trip you take, including summer holidays (there is a maximum number of days that any one trip can be). Again Annual Insurance has a price advantage.

Single Trip Insurance
For those booking a single trip: you can select how many days you require cover for, where and when. We've found that Ski-Insurance is a competitive, robust policy that offers a lot of choice and are very happy to recommend them.
