Whatever else may be going in the British economy currently, it’s fair to say that, judging from the success of the Natives Jobs Fair on Saturday, the seasonal jobs market is alive and kicking.
Ready for work
Over 900 candidates keen to work this winter, next summer and the following winter came through the door of the Novotel in Hammersmith to meet with over 20 employers. And candidates had travelled far and wide from all corners of the British Isles to boost their chances of working abroad this winter.
All sorts of people turned up, from qualified masseurs to gourmet chefs, 18 to 60 year olds, seasoned season workers to first timers – and a fair few walked out with jobs secured and their winter sorted.
Esprit and Total were so overwhelmed with applicants that they set up a group interview with 12 potential employees in the lobby.
Enterprising candidates
One candidate particularly keen to work with Ski Republic wasn’t thrown by the obstacle that he needed his own accommodation in resort to be able to take the job. He popped up to the Metro Show to speak to Ben on the Natives stand about seasonal accommodation, secured a flat through him and returned to the Jobs Fair to accept the job. Now that’s initiative!
If you weren’t successful in securing a winter position on Saturday, lots of tour operators are still looking for peak season staff and late starters, so keep checking our site regularly for all the latest updates.

Thanks to all the employers for supporting the first Natives Jobs Fair - it'll be back even bigger and better next year.
