is there a choice? This depends on the company and is an important question for interview. Many refuse to allocate resorts until you complete the training course. There can be some flexibility though, so don't be afraid to ask if there's somewhere you're particularly keen on.
A Méribel-like resort and a Barèges-type resort will give you very different seasons. Both will be a fantastic experience during which you'll make friends for life. But it's worth considering though that the bigger the resort, the less likely it is you'll meet the locals, speak the language or know everyone in your community. For an idea of the difference have a read through one resort worker's thoughts on the matter. We would never say one resort is better than another. It depends on so many elements - your colleagues, the snow that season, the company you work for and most importantly, you. The majority of season workers in Europe are based in France. But remember that most of the French resorts are purpose-built. The ski areas tend to be higher and larger, but other resorts and countries will give you more of a villagey feel. Smaller resorts are certainly less likely to have Internet Access. |
