THE NATIVES SHOW LOVE TOUR 2009/10

Last week, Simon Clark Natives Show Love Tour manager, started the ball rolling in the Espace Killy with the party in Val d'Isere, and then this Wednesday 20th January we'll be in Tignes at The Loop Bar. Catch up with the action from Val here;

The Show Love Tour took us to one of France's more picturesque and upmarket resorts last night; Val d'Isere.

The venue for the fun and games was 'Le Petit Danois' and I was delighted to be joined for this one by Rick Greenwood - a legend of many seasons in the mountains and also a hardcore party animal.Rick and friends

It was a night of high jinks on a rare day off for Rick this season, so it was good to go out to the pub with him with a professional head on and be able to enjoy just a few beers while everyone else managed to provide the entertainment!

We arrived at Le Petit Danois to be greeted by James from Precision Ski Shop. Precision is part of Freeride.fr and Sport 2000 and they were one of our sponsors for the evening. James brought along a really fantastic pair of Stoekle Skis to give to one very lucky party goer and also a cool Freeride.fr boot bag. Anyone working in Val d'Isere should take note as Precision are offering 10% off anything in their shop to seasonaires and also a whopping 30% discount for family and friends who are looking to hire.

Show Love Tour 10We were also joined by Matt from Oxygene Ski School and he gave us a hoody and a few t-shirts to give away, so along with all our usual sponsors top quality gear, we had loads of great prizes to give out! Oxygene wanted to be present at our season workers party, as they wanted to shout about the great deals they're offering to seasonaires this year. They're giving half price ski lessons to anyone working in Val D'Isere and are also offering Wednesday afternoon freestyle and mogul camps for the serious low price of 20 euros. Book me in!

Tom, the manager of Le Petit Danois, was an absolute star and provided us with a band - 2 4 u - and a DJ to make sure the tunes were pumping loud all evening. The rest of the bar staff were brilliant and made us feel really welcome and part of the Danois furniture.

The evening started with myself and Rick wrist banding all the guests and then pouring them a delicious Bloody Black drink - Eristoff Black vodka, served chilled and topped up with cranberry juice. Yum yum!Show Love tour 10

While we served the drinks the band played loads of great sing along songs and had the whole pub belting out all the great old classic tunes and the new, soon to be classic tunes. The pub was certainly in good voice.

We drew some early prizes for the folk that arrived at the beginning of the evening, with Ashley Cairns from Peak Services winning a Ski Club of Great Britain and Natives goody bag. The contents included tickets for the Altitude Festival in Meribel, Show Love Tour t-shirt and Warren Smith DVD as well as lots of things thrown in by the Ski Club.

Charlotte Vachon who was on holiday from Paris also won a Christmas style, clobber filled goody bag, while Max Vaysgiuers on holiday from Marseille won a grey Greeneye hoody.

Shove Love Tour 10Vincent Mancini, from VIP California won a ladies small Oxygene hoody that he said would be perfect for his wife and the lucky George Alcock who works for Precision won the super cool Blackfly sunnies.

The best looking nanny in the mountains, Sarah Beatan, who works for Esprit but is from Perth in Scotland (Scottish lassies are always stunners!) won twelve months subscription for Falline Ski Magazine and Document Snowboard Mag.

James Vineden from Ski Total won himself the Profeet wheelie bag, while David McKay also from Ski Total won himself a SCGB and Natives goodie bag. The best prize of the night was to be won by Debbie Priestly from Dicks T Bar who took away the skis that had been donated by Precision and she was a truly delighted lass, even though the skis were a tad on the big side for her.

I need to say a big thank you to Rick for all his hard graft last night and it was fantastic to meet the guys from Precision, Oxygene and Le Petit Danois and great to have the opportunity to have a wee social with them. The Danois will play host to Natives Workers Challenge - Mini Olympics prize giving and after party on Wednesday 3rd February.

Next up for us is the Show Love Tour party in Tignes at the Loop Bar and run by Rick himself, we'll also be joined by last year’s tour manager, Ben Simpson. Lets hope Tignes is everything and more of what we've seen in Val d'Isere!
