the journey out there...

By Coach
If you’re working for a tour operator you will probably travel out to by coach.  Despite notionally a great bonding exercise, the closest you’re likely to get to bonding in 24 hours of overnight coach travel is the drool from the person sitting next to you sticking to your new fleece.

By Air
The fortunate (and those working in North America) will fly out to resort.   Unfortunately the exception to the rule.

By Car
One free girl with every trashed car...
If you have a car, you can drive out to the Alps.  Despite the hassle of arranging insurance, the risk of accident and the amount of time you’ll spend digging your car out of the snow, this can be a great option.

As wonderful as life is in resort, when mid-season blues set in, a car means you can escape.   It also means you can shop when you want, adds earning options and opens up a whole new world of social life.  Be warned though – while Alpine breathalysers are rare, crumpled cars are not!
