The
Dual Slalom is the race that started it all as far as the Workers
Challenge is concerned.

- Report
This will be the 4th year of this event, after two years in La Tania
and last year's race in Meribel, and it really is the fun race in
the series - with workers in fancy dress but sill attempting to
be the fastest on the hill.
Team
Dual Slalom
This is a simple head-to-head knockout competition between teams
of five. As soon as the first member of the team has finished, the
second can start, and so on, until the whole team has raced.
Each team must have one member of the opposite sex. There are separate
competitions for Skiers and Boarders. Teams of monoskiers, telemarkers
and even bladers are welcome, with all entries in these categories
rewarded for their admirable eccentricity!
Fancy
Dress
In the great tradition of this race, teams are invited to attend
in fancy dress, for which they will be rewarded with the appreciation
of the crowd, a free drink and the chance to win the special prize
on offer for 'Best Fancy Dress'.
Individual Dual Slalom
This will be fought between the 16 male and 8 female qualifiers
from the Meribel Giant Slalom in February. There are no prizes for
this event - these guys are competing for pride
and the possible
chance to race Alain Baxter (see below).
Race
against the British Team
Snowsports GB Team members Alain and Noel Baxter are currently scheduled
to take a short break from their busy schedules to make a special
appearance at the Workers Challenge. Details will be confirmed in
due course.
Prizes
We have over €5000 of prizes available, including skiing and
summer holidays, skis, boards, helmets, Natives and Fat Face merchandise.
Prizes are on offer for the first three teams in each category, plus
for the best team fancy dress (and for any of those 'eccentric' teams
mentioned above).
Entry
Entry costs €40 per team, which includes two free drinks (TBC),
courtesy of T&T and Extreme Drinks. Entry forms are available
from Fat Face and Freeride.fr in Meribel and Courchevel 1650 and
Fat Face in Courchevel 1850.
NB DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE
Due to time
limitations, we are only able to accept a maximum of 24 teams. Please
bear in mind that, as at the Meribel Giant Slalom, it is highly
likely that the event will be filled in advance - get your entry
in quickly to avoid disappointment
After-Party & Prize-giving
Le Kalico will host the after-party and prize-giving from 4.30pm,
which will also double up as a date on the Natives Show Love Tour.
Watch out for live music, free vodka/energy drinks courtesy of Extreme
Drinks, and lots more prizes for everyone.
