RESORT BLOGGER: One final post from Sarah!

Brr, it’s more chilly here than on the slopes…!

So folks, I’m back in good old Scotland after a marathon bus journey back from Courchevel. I’d barely left the resort when the season caught up with me, suffering from the flu and then the dreaded “kissing disease” that is Glandular Fever. I probably should have slept more but I had such a blast that I wouldn’t change a thing!

It’s been a little difficult to readjust back to life in the UK - I’ve had to stop referring to everyone as “babe”, surgically remove my beanie hat and try not to think of prices in Euros! I’ve found myself missing wine, cheese and waking up to that gorgeous mountain view. It’s definitely a bit emotional too, not seeing the friends you became so close to everyday - thank goodness for Skype!

Saying that, it is also a relief to be home! I’ve been eating cheese toasties like they’re going out of fashion (oh cheddar, how I’ve missed you), drinking Irn Bru and catching up with friends and family - there are literally MONTHS of gossip and goings-on that need to be discussed. I’m also definitely loving having my own room with a cosy double bed which won’t be invaded/set on fire/moved during the night with me in it…!

It’s true that seasonnaires live for the Winter; the moment you arrive back In the UK you long for the powder, start saving up to buy gear for next season and watch youtube videos of the tricks you plan to do in 7 months. Yet being out on season makes you appreciate home all the more. Yes, I have already started planning my return to the Courchevel Valley but I know that I’m lucky to have incredible friends and family here in Bonny Scotland. There’s no place like home!
