RESORT BLOGGER: Jack is back!

Catch up with our resort blogger Jack in Flaine!

Its been quite a while since my last post for natives, but never fear Jack is here! Over February Flaine was granted with plenty of powder allowing major off piste. I haven't really done much off piste so I'm basically trying to keep up but its been super fun. Just feels like surfing I recommend anyone to do it (with a guide and the correct equipment) don't be that person that turns up to an off piste lesson without a helmet and wearing snow blades cause just... no... So finally myself and my colleague Tom paid for a carte neige on our season pass. On that day we have never been so stupid just yelling "Carte Neige!" as we jump off somewhere or travel through the trees. It was like a scene out of GNAR, if you haven't seen this film you need to watch it!

Also with Feb we had the UK's various school holidays including the french holidays as well so on the piste and in resort has been manic. The off piste has been majorly tracked out on the usual spots but still some untouched places which we manage to find (the benefit of being here longer than everyone else) so for now we have been cruising around trying to stay out of trouble with the masses of guests we have over the month. February has been a hard but fast month without any major hitches and we are now in the start of March. The temperature is heating up the snow slowly melting and we haven't had a fall in a while. On the bright side its been warm enough to get a decent goggle tan soon enough gunna sport the t shirt and shorts on the piste.

For now just sunglasses and I wasn't the only one to enjoy the weather.... not sure who looks better...

Also the start of the 8th our ski school ESI organised a freestyle area on the piste with rails, boxes, kickers for all abilities. It was amazing sun all day everyday, music blazing out with a bbq on the piste as well, brilliant! This went on all week with an evening of professionals showing off and an amateur competition with the winner earning a new pair of skis or board so overall

Song of choice thanks to channel 4's parawinter olympics Public Enemy - Harder than you think.
