Inghams have become the first UK tour operator
to offer online bookings.
When we tested the system it proved to be
slow, clunky and not much use without a brochure.
However, the £50 discount available probably makes
it worth the effort if you're planning to buy brochure
price.
At this stage competitors are not panicking.
Several other operators are already working on plans
to dovetail their reservations systems with the Internet
- so expect more announcements soon. Until then
some competing contractors claim they can use the
system to track Inghams' sales on certain common properties,
helping them strike deals.
