Lack of forward bookings
and poor early season snow have caused Qantas to cancel
their direct flights into Queenstown for the month
of June.
Despite most resorts
due to open in the next couple of weeks, bookings
had been too low for the airline to keep the service
running. Mirroring recent years in the Northern Hemisphere,
Australians have apparently been delaying
their holidays until they can be sure they won't just
be playing golf, bungy jumping or any of the many
other activities available in the area.
