Austria's SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental region
has launched a major marketing offensive in advance
of next winter season.
The
area has a new strapline - 'If you rest, you rust'
- which it hopes will draw in new skiers to follow
its successful 1999-2000 season.
The region claims that its lift pass price to lifts
ratio is one of Europe's best - surpassing the claims
of the large French areas such as the Three Vallees
whose 200 lifts can be on the pricy end.
The
Ski Welt incorporates the resorts of Brixen im Thale,
Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Scheffau, Söll,
Kelchsau and Westendorf, with 250km of trails.
New
developments for next season include a new eight seater
gondola from Hochsöll up to the summit. This is a
particularly ambitious project as the mountain station
will be built underground so as not to impact on the
mountain panorama.
