WILLENNIUM CURRY MIX SAVES LIVES...

27 January 2000

Strange, but true - dreaming of baltis and singing Will Smith helped two climbers survive...

Two climbers survived 16 hours trapped on a freezing mountain by singing Will Smith songs and talking about curries and sun-drenched islands.

Computer boss Simon Opit, 41, and partner Lesley Totten, 34, sparked a major search when they vanished on a remote hillside in the Cairngorms, Scotland. However they dug a trench in the snow, sang pop songs and dreamt of curries and sun-kissed Greek islands. The pair, from Swindon, Wiltshire, spent yesterday recovering.
