YOUTH WINS BRITS...

18 January 2000

The British Land Championships in Saalbach Hinterglemm were dominated by the new generation of racers.  While some of the names are familiar, Laura Westmacott and Joanna Greig show great promise.

Both are members of the UK Girls Alpine Development Squad, which comprises sixteen girls aged from 15-20.  The squad is based at Puy St Vincent and run by Willie Taunton-Burnett, with training by ex-Scottish team racer, Sam Liddell, and Stephane Party.

Laura Westmacott will be looking to repeat her success at BUSC, where she will compete for Newcastle University.  Jo Greig is still at school and looks a great prospect for the future winters.
