New kit and clothing for the 2010/11 season
Fresh virgin powder may be the most exciting thing since sliced bread, but sadly it just isn't possible every day. Luckily the smell and feel of brand new kit is available much more readily, and comes in a close second on the excitement-o-meter.
So without further ado, here's the shiny techy must-haves for the 2010/11 season, fresh off the stands of the UK's snowsports trade show Slide.

Dalbello, Scorpion range, from £350 Made from a race last but designed for freeride, these boots are on an off-centre cog (shown in the pic), so it's easier to lean onto your inside edge, and have extra shaping in the shell to avoid pinching. |
Blizzard R Power Full Suspension skis, £899 The carbon rods running through the skis and the piston between the bindings absorbs vibrations and stops the skis chattering in the ice. Available without binding piston from £279. |

Volkl skis, left to right in pairs: Mantra, Kendo, Aura, Kenja The Kendo and Kenja are smaller (read friendlier) versions of the Mantra, for men and women respectively. The Aura has new geometry this year more suited to women's anatomy, which puts less strain on the hamstrings. |
K2 The big story with K2 is this year all the skis now have a rocker of some description, whether it be for speed, jibbing or powder. And the Apache range are now called All Mountain Performance (pictured right), complete with windows on the top sheet to see what they're made of inside. |
