SNOW BLANKETS FALLS CREEK

20 June 2005

Snow falling at Falls Creek

It's all finally kicked off in Australia, just in time for the upcoming school holidays! Falls Creek is faring particularly well, boasting a base of just over 50cm and more on the way, the Natives are enjoying great, if slightly damp, riding with eight lifts open and snow flurries forecast all day.

Head for the trees
There is plenty of man made snow around, and the teams are working around the clock to boost coverage whenever temperatures drop sufficiently, and grooming the pistes overnight to maintain the slope quality.

With 11cm falling last night, tree runs are the go today, and it's just going to get better - the forecast is for snow down to 1000m later in the week. Stay high and get up early, but get out there!
