GREAT START TO THE SEASON IN CHILE AND ARGENTINA

13 June 2005

Southern Hemisphere storms

Winter has come early to the Andes Mountains of Chile and Argentina. Heavy early-season snowstorms have allowed most resorts to open ahead of schedule.

Las Leñas

Shaping up for a great season
Las Leņas has received 5 feet of snow, Valle Nevado 2 feet and a half, Portillo 3 feet, Cerro Catedral in Bariloche 2 feet and the city of Bariloche is covered by the snow!

If you are thinking of heading over, aim for June, August and September as the last two weeks of July are national holidays in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil and are the busiest weeks at the southern ski resorts.

Keep up to day with our latest Natives snow reports and web cams.
