Heli Max - Heliski like a pro at Mt.Potts
Anyone heading out to NZ this summer with a yearning for heli-skiing might want to check out some of the options on offer over at Mount Potts.

Their new 'Heli Max' package is ideal for strong skiers and boarders who want to do as many powder runs as possible for their dollars. The day rate of only $650 (around £250) includes eight full length heliski runs, giving you 22,000 feet vertical!

Clients are flown direct to the top of Mt.Potts for the first run. The group of four plus guide have the chopper at their disposal all day, and can pick runs in and around Mt.Potts as well as off the back. The rate includes a picnic lunch, eaten at altitude with incredible views of the surrounding mountain ranges, as well as après-hour snacks and schnapps on return to base lodge.

Pure Heli option
Alternatively, for the more discerning skier, who likes a bit more time to enjoy the scenery, you could try out the 'Pure Heli' option.

Mt. Potts Backcountry has secured heliski terrain in the magnificent Two Thumb Range, just over the valley from Mt. Potts. A five run guided day with a gourmet lunch then bubbly and nibbles on return to base lodge, could be just what you need to recharge your batteries. On a Pure Heli day you'll ski a fantastic 17,000 feet of vert on pristine powder snow.

For more information on either of these products visit their website where you can take a personality test to determine which deal would suit you best.

Snowcat days still on offer
Mt.Potts Backcountry is still operating their famous snowcat days, where a maximum of 14 clients are flown by helicopter onto Mt.Potts, then the snowcat transports the group to the top of the mountain for each run. Cat skiing is a fully guided experience suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders. Rates this winter are $320 low season and $350 high season. High season starts on 6 August and ends on 5 September.

The ski area opens on 20 July 2005. Bookings are essential at Mt.Potts as seats in both the snowcat and helicopter are strictly limited. Call 0800 SNOWCAT for more information or to book. Accommodation and meals are available in Mt.Potts Lodge.
