 The
Verbier Ride 2005 Big Mountain Freeride delivered some of the finest
competitive freeskiing imaginable. The event held on the extremely
challenging face of Mont Gele provided a fittingly dramatic conclusion
to the 2005 IFSA Freeskiing European Tour.
Stand out performances by Shelly Robertson (USA) and Ted Davenport
(USA) saw them take the 1st places. Video clips available now on
the Ride website.
 Skiercross
and slopestyle action
Tommy Eliasson (SWE) secured his place at the Winter X-Games TEN
in the Verbier Ride Skier Cross discipline. Christian Cretier (FRA)
took second and Daisuke Sasaki (JAPAN) took third.
The Verbier Ride Slope Style was held in a specially enhanced La
Chaux terrain park, shaped by Alex Zillio from Televerbier. The
Slope Style saw the riders in chilled-out mood, as they sessioned
the course, throwing down an increasingly complex mix of D-Spins,
Cork, Rodeo and Switch tricks. In the end Jean-Laurent Ratchel (FRA)
came out on top, just ahead of second place Carim Bouzenada (SUI)
and third place Mart Perendi (FIN).

 Ride
Side events
The Verbier Ride 2003 saw the creation of the "Riders Environment"
at the Centre Sportif in Verbier. With the continued support of
Bernd Rosenthal and the whole Centre Sportif team, we were able
to offer an increased Wellness Program to the Riders. Many riders
took full advantage of the centre and used it to un-wind and get
stresses and strains treated from the days riding.
The Place Central Outdoor Results Screen was a new addition to Verbier
Ride 05. Each evening everybody in Verbier had the opportunity to
catch the rapidly edited highlights and watch them from outside
the Farinet
Hotel's Apres Ski Bar. The DVD of the action then screened in
Harold's in the Place Central with their High Def projector.
 Party

The Monday night party at the Pub
Mont Fort was epic. Huge amount of shots consumed thanks to
the Pub offering the event 1/2 priced Vodka all night! The crowd
then moved to Tara
Tata and were further entertained by more Vodka and Absinth
Cocktails.
Tuesday night was the Wonderbar Bar party in association with the
Natives Show Love Tour.
Again huge consumption and lack of memory by midnight!
The event finale night was at the Farinet Lounge Bar and Casbah
nightclub. Riders, Event Staff and Press let their hair down and
took advantage of the free bottles of Vodka in the VIP area to seriously
get on it. Further reports for this night are a blur, almost as
insane as the riding at the event!
Saas-Fee Ride 05
This coming July will see the third Saas-Fee
Ride event take place. The competition will be held on the weekend
of the 23 July in the stunning glacial terrain park of the Swiss
resort Saas-Fee.
The Saas-Fee Ride will include Half Pipe, Big Air and Skier Cross.
