Snowboarding comp
17 year-old Elias Elhardt, from Germany won the Billabong World
Junior Pro Les 2 Alpes with the greatest run of the whole event
on the world-class snowpark of la Toura, in Les 2 Alpes.
His winning run included a
Frontside Boardslide on the first rail, Backside 700 on the first
kicker, then Cab 900 sur on then next one, nose press on the kink
rail, Alley Oop 360 on the Hip, Head Plant on the Quarter and Boardslide
nose press on the final curved rail.
Norway's Freddy Austbö and Canadian Renault Belisle finished 2nd
and 3rd.
Most
promising amateur
France's Julien Bogoli won the Tristant Picot Memorial trophy awarded
to the most promising amateur of the competition. Julien had qualified
to the Billabong World Pro Junior via the VZ Trials in Avoriaz.
He wins 3000 Euros prize money and will get media exposure in european
magazine Method Mag.
Ladies winners
Australian Abby Bright, Billabong team rider won ahead of Sophie
Rodriguez (France) fellow team member. On the same course as the
men, Abby passed a50 /50 on the first rail, Method and Backside
500 on the kickers, 50/50 nosepress on the kink rail, Method on
the Hip, and finished with a Headplant on the Quarter.
The Billabong World Junior Pro for juniors under 20 was organised
by Billabong with the support of Les 2 Alpes, Hertz, Von Zipper
and Europe 2 Radio.
