WINTER OLYMPICS SCHEDULE

STOP PRESS:
Silver for Shelley Rudman in Skeleton Bob & 11th for Chemmy Alcott in Downhill. Keep it going Team GB!!

Torino 2006It's finally here. The Games of the 20th Winter Olympiad have arrived. Britain's finest wintersports athletes will be representing us to the best of their abilities in and around Turin. In a typically Italian way half the population only just appear to have realised they have a major international sporting festival taking place - still, given they're Italian, the after-party will probably go on till 2007, so it should be a very fun place to be for a while.

Natives keeps you in touch
Not only does Natives find you jobs in the Alps, organise ski and board events, keep you updated with snow reports and winter news, we also strongly support out snowsports athletes, so keep your browsers tuned to the Natives home page for regular updates from the Olympics. Our on the spot reporter Neil McQuoid will be filling us in on the highs, the lows and all the gossip from Turin.

Meanwhile, if you want to kit yourself out properly for the event, then check out our Snowsports GB hoodies and T-shirts. Not only can you look shred-tastically stylish, you'll also be helping raise funds for our snowsports team.

The skiing and snowboarding at the Turin Olympics will be based across a couple of different ski areas. As you'll notice from our snow reports, recent falls have brought some much needed new snow to the race courses and terrain park. The ski events will be taking place in the resorts of Sestriere - Cesana San Sicario Fraiteve, with snowboarding in Bardonecchia.

There's still a bit of snow

Still time to join the party
Finlay ripsAlthough there were a few issues in the run-up to the Games (eg the long-standing problems with accommodation), things appear to be just about ready. In fact if you can free up a day or two, it is still just about possible to find somehwere to stay. So, if you fancy watching Zoe Gillings, Chemmy Alcott, Finlay Mickel, our curlers or skeleton bob experts in person, then don't hang around - get out there and enjoy the once in a lifetime spectacle.

Alternatively, keep your browser tuned to Natives and let us keep you up-to-speed with what's going on.

Team Snowsport GBGo team GB!
Good luck to all of the British competitors and remember, if a member of our squad finishes in the Top Ten in a Ski or Snowboard event, then that is a result to be proud of. If we get any medals, that's up there with an Ashes win, England reaching the finals of the World Cup or Scotland beating France at rugby last weekend. Our athletes are awesome, get in front of a screen and cheer them on!!

All the best to them from the Natives Team
