Developments at Coronet Peak
construction of the new, 6-seater Greengates Express at Coronet
Peak is well underway with earthworks and terminal foundations completed.
The 1330 metre long, high speed detachable six-seater chair will
significantly increase lift capacity, open up wide tracts of fantastic
terrain, and get skiers and boarders from the base to the top of
the mountain in just 4.5 minutes. It has been positioned to provide
maximum vertical and maximum access to the slopes.
Trail development in the upper Greengates area will provide access
to intermediate terrain that has previously only been accessible
to advanced and expert skiers and riders. As part of the development,
a 200 space car park will be created at the base of the new chairlift
allowing direct access for those with season passes or pre purchased
tickets.

Developments
at Mt Hutt
The Summit Six, as the new six man chair is known, will run from
the base building to the top of the mountain replacing two T-bars
which will be removed, and the existing quad chair which is being
relocated to become a dedicated novice chair.
Removing surface lifts and relocating the quad has offered the opportunity
to rethink the trail layout, create new trails and improve existing
ones. At just over 5 minutes, the ride to the top of the mountain
will take only about a third of the time that it did and will open
up several new areas.
The new chairlift is a 1350 metres long, high speed detachable six-seater
that is capable of moving 2400 people per hour at a speed of 5 metres
per second.
