Boarder and Skiercross
The
AIM (Artificial,
Indoor, Mountain) Series 2004 continues this weekend, 18 September,
in Milton Keynes.
The Boarder/ Skiercross competition will be raced in heats of three,
and the final in fours on the challenging course. Skiing will be
run in the morning and snowboarding in the afternoon, and there
will also be a friendly Slopestyle competition following the morning
and afternoon Boarder/ Skiercross championships with the new jam
session format in between for both the skiers and snowboarders.
Local talent and free lessons
Local talents such as snowboarders James Carr (GB Junior Team member),
Lucy Passmore, (Indoor Slopestyle Champion) and Laura Berry (current
British Slopestyle Champion) will all defend their home turf together
with skiers Alex Collin and Jocelyn Cockle, who took 3rd place in
last year's skiercross. The registration for the Snowboard Slopestyle
competition is already closed as it reached the limit of 100 competitors.
The competition should be fierce, as the event is the last men's
qualifying event for the Red Bull Storm in Glasgow, 25th September.
Free O'Neill snowboard lessons
and Tresspass ski lessons are up for grabs - to get a one hour lesson
with a qualified instructor, equipment hire and an Orange AIM Series
goody bag registration can be done online.
