BURTON ABOMINABLE SNOW JAM

29 June 2004

Burton's 'Abominable Snow Jam' - an invite-only format - will shortly be bringing Mt Hood a more intimate, laid-back event complete with barbeques, parties and summer fun on the glacier.

Three locations, three prize pots
All three camps on Mt. Hood will host a portion of the event. On July 9th, the quarterpipe will go down at High Cascade Snowboard Camp (HCSC), on July 10, the halfpipe takes place at Windell’s and Timberline will host the slopestyle event on July 11.

Burton has given each camp $5000 to prepare for the event and one of them will win an additional $5000 if the riders decide it has the best setup. Each camp has carte blanche to make their feature spectacular.

Forty riders confirmed

“I am so stoked about this event,” says Tim Windell, founder of Windell’s Snowboard Camp, “Summer isn’t the end; it’s the beginning of the new season."

To date over 40 riders have confirmed attendance, including Peter Line, Ross Powers, Danny Kass, Tadashi Fuse, JJ Thomas, Kelly Clark, Marc Frank and many more. Spectators are very welcome and encouraged to take part in Mt. Hood’s summer riding conditions and hang out with snowboarding’s most accomplished riders from around the globe.
