 The
Event - Slopestyle Backcountry and Bumps Competition
The Date - 25th March 2004
The Venue - Meribel (top of Rhodos lift)
In 2003 Magic in Motion created the Magic Dedern, a competition
in memory of Gregoire (Dedern) Hubert; a great friend, fellow Magic
in Motion Ski Instructor and inspiration to all.
Double Big Air
Last year saw a massive double big air constructed just above the
Rhodos lift in the Meribel Valley. The event was hugely popular
with competitors and spectators alike. Live music and Dj’s along
side a big bar and barbeque added to the occasion.
This year Magic hope to build on the success of last year and go
Large! The format will be different, the inclusion of two mogul
lines with a Kicker jump for an open event. In place of the big
air jumps of last year, a slopestyle will be constructed through
the trees with rails, "Magic Module !" and one big air jump at the
base.
Bumps
In addition to those from the 3 Valleys we will be inviting other
resorts to compete in an open event. We ( Maybe you!) will be organising
coaches for suporters to come too. This event will be split into
categories. 3 or less seasons and 4 or more seasons. Male and female.
  
Slopestyle Backcountry
All the typical Slopestyle stuff; rails, table tops with the added
attraction of being set up in backcountry terrain among trees. The
competitors will face a big air jump at the base of the run. Points
will be awarded on style, difficulty of tricks, the landing and
overall performance. This will be again split into categories. Boarder/Skier,
Novice/Advanced, Male/Female.
 Entertainment
Live bands, Dj's from UK and France. Large outdoor bar and barbeque.
Visiting pros. and demo teams We will be filming the event for broadcasting
on television. Hot air balloon, Base jumpers, Parapenting.....etc.....etc......!
