VAL D'ISERE SNOW SNOW AND MORE SNOW

14 January 2004

Let it snow, let it snow...
Its snowing.. and snowing… and snowing… and snowing… and it is supposed to carry on all week with a slight break on Wednesday.

The snow gods have obviously been listening to our prayers.. the white stuff will just not stop falling! These photos were taken at 9am tuesday, but they really don't do justice to the conditions at all. On returning at lunchtime the trees were even more weighed down with snow and there was much much more on the balcony.. I might not be able to open the door soon for fear of getting smothered by the soft stuff!

Lifts closed
Not too much of the ski area is open today as it is actually raining now, but I've heard more will be open tomorrow. It looks like the people who have a holiday booked for next week will be really really jammy!

On a more sobering note, if you are going off piste then please be careful and only go with somebody who really really knows what they are doing. For more detailed snow reports and full on & off piste snow conditions visit the Henry's Avalanche Talk website www.henrysavalanchetalk.com. Avalanche danger remains very high.
