Chamonix to replace Bormio
The men's World Cup downhill at Bormio in Italy has been called off because of heavy snow and poor visibility at the resort north of Milan.

The race was scheduled for Sunday but was postponed to Monday because of the continuing weather problems.

Skiing's governing body, the FIS, announced on Tuesday that the event would be moved to the French resort of Chamonix on 9 January. Chamonix is hosting another downhill on 10 January and a slalom the next day.

Austrian Michael Walchhofer leads the downhill standings.
