AND THEN CAME THE HUCK DOLL...

27 November 2003

It used to be that perfecting a Rodeo Flip or a Backside 540 required a day in the terrain park gathering bruises and repeatedly shaking out the cobwebs.

Young jibbers these days have to work hard to keep up with the new school of skiing and snowboarding.

Buy, hey, that was before the Huckdoll™. Now instead of bowing your head and heading back to the chalet, aspiring aerialists can instead return to the drawing board.

The Huckdoll™ is a five-inch tall bendable figurine and was originally invented "for the purpose of visualizing aerial maneuvers" by a team of ski bums in Lake Tahoe. Both Shane McConkey (skier) and Ross Powers (snowboarder) feature removable equipment and fully poseable limbs.

In certain respects, these dolls can be compared to the miniature plastic skateboards and snowboards originally marketed in the late-90s as toys for kids. Pro riders immediately adopted these toys as a means of envisioning and demonstrating their aerial maneuvers.

On the other hand, you could just buy one cos they're fun! What rider/huckster/parent/uncle/elder sister
etc could refuse his or her inner child/child/niece/little bro the one action figure on the rack without fangs or a grenade launcher?

But if you want one get in quick! Natives currently has a limited number of both Shane and Ross available in our online store at the stunning low price of just £8.99 - and don't hang around because these are the only ones in Europe!

Alternatively, if you're feeling lucky you can win one on this winter's Show Love Tour, or by entering our competition below. Huck away…

And the winner is....Hayley Boyce, who wins her own Shane McConkey!
