Employers in Aspen, a town full of celebrities, have been known
to make unusual requests of employees, but even for Aspen, one alleged
request was going too far.
Top
wage, accommodation, cars and jets
Matthew Jay, 26, thought he'd found the perfect job. Jay claims
he was offered a position as a caretaker for an Aspen lodge, which
paid $25 an hour and included a free studio apartment.
The job also included use of the property’s vehicles in Aspen, as
well as being able to hop rides on the private jet and helicopter,
and holiday at the owner’s vacation homes when they weren't using
them.
While the owners were in town, Jay would be expected to clean the
house, arrange for fresh flowers and other necessities, and help
serve dinner and cocktails.
Blown away by job requirements
But between doing the dishes and sorting the laundry, Jay claims,
he was told by John Ortega, supervisor of the property, that he
would have one other duty: allowing Ortega to occasionally perform
fellatio on him.
Jay's interest in the position ended there - but his outrage didn't,
and he filed suit against Ortega and his employers, William Dillard
II and Mandy Dillard.
Case postponed
Ortega has denied both offering Jay a job and making any demand
for sexual favours; the Dillards say they know nothing about the
situation. Initially scheduled for trial this week, the case has
been postponed.
