Natives
can exclusively reveal that the ChamJam
- Europes premier freestyle sports and music festival - has
confirmed that its 15th year will be held in a new venue - Soldeu,
Andorra.
Fusion of freestyle action and music madness
The grandaddy of all winter events, the ChamJam
is one of the high points of the season for amateurs and pros alike.
Year after year, Chamonix has rocked to the ChamJam beat, fusing
freestyle action with music madness from cutting edge bands across
Europe. However, frustrated by an apparent lack of support from
its original home, in 2004 Soldeu will host the event.
Soldeu will host ChamJam 2004
Soldeu is 2 hours from Barcelona, Perpignon and Montpellier. A combination
of vision & huge investment has transformed the resort, putting
it on a level footing with Europes finest. A massive network
of pistes and lifts and the immaculate Free SET snowpark provide
terrain for every level of skier and snowboarder. And if that wasnt
enough, there is more untracked powder than you can shake a stick
at!
High profile music acts
At night the ChamJam après ski energy is indomitable.
In the past, the festival has attracted high profile acts like Zero
7, Ash, Killa Kela, David Holmes and Frances #1 hip hop group,
the Saian Supa Crew. You can expect more of the same in 2004, with
a mix of high profile international names and both Spanish and International
emerging talent.
Boss des Bosses to remain in Chamonix
Concerned season workers should not despair! Although the main event
will be in Andorra, the original competition that spawned the ChamJam
- the Boss des Bosses
- will remain in Chamonix.
The inter-resort battle to prove which
resort has the best skiers, boarders and telemarkers (Zermatt are
current champions) will take place on March 17 at the Grands Montets.
As in the last few years, Natives remain committed as sponsors,
as well organisers of the mass migration to Chamonix that takes
place from resorts around the Alps.
ChamJam Dates & Info
ChamJam 2004 will be held from March 21-26 inclusive. For more info
on both the Boss and the ChamJam, keep tuning in to Natives. (The
ChamJam website will also be
updated shortly.)
