Well here we are again, the winter approaching fast. Light dusting
of snow this morning has made the village of Arinsal a little prettier
and turned the quiet locals into frenzied maniacs talking about
what sick stuff there gonna do when it "really" snows.
Important work permit news:
If you are heading to Andorra with the hope of doing a season then
read on and act quickly (very quickly) or you will be royally stuffed!
All people working in Andorra MUST have a work permit. To obtain
this work permit you MUST get a PNC CHECK from the police in the
UK before you leave. This currently takes about 40 days & costs
about 10 quid - go to your local police station to get the application
form.
You need a CV and an accomodation contract
On top of that you will need a CV (just a basic one will do) and
an accomodation contract from the agency when you find an apartment.
Now this is where it gets tricky...
There is currently diddly squat to rent in Arinsal There are some
hotel rooms available as stop gaps but the rental situation is dire.
Some bars have accomodation reserved for their staff, but not many
so check with employers first.
Sort it out asap
If you want a hassle free season (and not bed hopping for the wrong
reasons) then you need to start making enquiries and sorting out
the above mentioned points.
I know it sounds a bit gloomy but its always best to be well prepared
in Andorra.
