Wooden Spoon Society Six Nations Challenge France
The French leg of the Wooden Spoon
Society Six Nations Challenge is a full day race around the Portes
du Soleil area of the French Alps taking place 16 January 2004.
Teams of 2 or more will spend up to 7½ hours on the slopes, skiing
or boarding between check points to maximise their 'Spoon Factor'
- the score that will decide the eventual Challenge Winners.
Each check point will be located at a mountain restaurant and tactics
will play a large part as teams decide the order in which they visit
the restaurants and the route they choose between them.

The
Wooden Spoon Society
The Wooden Spoon Society is a charity that has it's roots
in the game of rugby, but has grown to become a national organisation
supporting projects for the young and disadvantaged across the UK.
Founded in 1983 by a group of rugby enthusiasts, Wooden Spoon has
since grown steadily and now raises over £1 million per year through
national events.
The projects supported by Wooden Spoon vary greatly in size and
nature but they all fulfil Spoon's mission statement - "To enhance
the quality and prospect of life for children and young people in
the United Kingdom who are disadvantaged either physically, mentally
or socially."
It is thanks to the support of it's members and the many thousands
of participants in it's fund raising events that Wooden Spoon can
continue to have a positive impact on disadvantaged children and
young people throughout the United Kingdom.
