Croatia captain Boris Zivkovic said he is bringing home the shirt
worn by England captain David Beckham in Wednesday's Euro 2004 warm-up
as a present to ski star Janica Kostelic.
Kostelic a huge fan
The double World Cup ski champion had pleaded for Beckham's shirt
before Croatia's game against England in Ipswich. "Please help me,
I would like to put an ad in the newspapers. I would like our players
to bring me Beckham's shirt. I do not collect shirts, but I would
like to have this one," Kostelic said before the match.
Good news for ski queen
And Zivkovic had good news for the skier dubbed the Snow Queen after
England's 3-1 win with Beckham scoring the opening penalty. "Tell
Janica that I have Beckham's shirt for her," Zivkovic told journalists.
Croatia's captain did not specify whether he had told Beckham that
his shirt was to be delivered to Kostelic.
