Winter's
here
Blizzard like conditions in Falls Creek over the weekend. 30cms
of fresh snow fell last night & yesterday giving an average base
of 154cms. Wild & snowy conditions set to continue during Monday,
Tuesday & Wednesday with high winds the limiting factor.
Superpipe opened
The Falls Creek Super pipe opened late last
week, rumoured to be the largest & longest in Australia. Film maker
Rob Norman accompanied by Australian skiing superstars Woody Bouma,
Ben 'Skinner' Murphy, Oddy Graham, LCP's Jon McMurray & French bad
boys P.G. & Pierre arrived at Lakeside Lodge in anticipation of
a fat pipe session. With a window of good weather opening up on
Saturday, the boys got what they came for, putting on a display
of epic proportions for the Falls Creek masses

Kangaroo Hoppe
Chook footers are popping up all over resort as the 13th International
Kangaroo Hoppe cross country ski carnival is on from the 22nd August
to the 1st September 2003. The 42km Kangaroo Hopet, 21km Australian
Birkebeiner & 7km Joey Hoppet take place on the 30th August. The
event attracts in excess of 1200 skiers representing more than 23
nations & with 60kms of prime cross country trails ready for the
event, current conditions couldn't be better.
