The final of the Cadbury Moro Street Jib Series in Wanaka attracted
a huge crowd and full field of 36 boarders and skiers with their
eyes on the $1,000 prize pool.
Local
Skiers
The skiing field was particularly strong with a number of the country's
top free skiers in town for this weekend's Nationals at Cardrona.
Dave Turner from Queenstown took the honours with a 50-50 slide,
closely followed by Wanaka's Byron Wells who at just 11 was the
event's youngest competitor.
Snowboard winners
The snowboarding was also a very close run competition with Nick
Stephens from Cambridge coming out top with a boardslide switch
50-50 switch backside 180 off which in layman's terms means impressive.
Second place went to one of only two female competitors, B (Nabila)
Piper from Wanaka. Yato Yoshino from Japan came third.
