COCA COLA AIR AND STYLE BIG AIR

16 August 2003

Last minute entries steal the show
Last Saturday night Falls Creek held the Coca-Cola Big Air under lights in the village bowl. It was another huge event for Falls Creek with Japanese pro's arriving only minutes before the comp started. They may have nearly missed it but they more than made up for it with some amazing air being thrown down.

There was a massive 50+ foot table with a long down-ramp built by the Mammoth Mountain Park boys. Coke put up 6 G's cash for the event and prizes from Dainese, Spy, K2 and Epic.

Winner takes all
It was winner takes all with first prize male ski at $1500, open Male snowboarding $1500, and $500 for the women and juniors first prize. The Men's skiing open went to Ben Murphy and the open male snowboarding went to local Clive Dickerson. It was a huge crowd turn out despite the freezing conditions with an outside snow bar at Fryers, big tunes and hundreds of pissed punters. It was a very successful night overall with everyone kicking on either at the Man or at the Fryers dance party.

The park has been super nice this year out at Ruined Castle with 4 big tables and 4 rails. Every Saturday Falls will also be holding a rail Jam night under lights sponsored by World Industries, so come check it out and rip it up at Falls.
