VIRGIN OFFERS TO ACCEPT BA VOUCHERS

BA vouchers recognised by Virgin
Sir Richard has come into the spotlight once again as he takes advantage of current bad feeling among airline passengers. Virgin Atlantic has offered to accept the £80 British Airways vouchers given to passengers affected by the recent flight chaos – plus an additional £20 discount.

British Airways came under fire after offering passengers the vouchers – and while many accepted that the carrier was trying to make an effort to placate passengers, many said the gesture was too little, too late.

Virgin bookings doubled
Now Virgin is effectively giving anyone affected by the flight a £100 discount. It claimed that bookings taken at its call centre doubled during the recent BA dispute and were still running at record levels a week later.

Sir Richard Branson said: “For many British Airways passengers stranded by the recent industrial action BA’s goodwill offer of £80 to fly with them again will come as cold comfort. We have already seen thousands of BA’s passengers book with Virgin and we expect this offer will encourage passengers to switch over to Virgin in their droves.”
