Big Mountain Freeride

The Verbier Ride 2003 Big Mountain Freeride delivered some of the finest competitive freeskiing imaginable. The event held on the extremely challenging slopes of Mont Gele provided a fittingly dramatic conclusion to the 2003 IFSA Freeskiing European Tour.

A stand-out performance by UK rider Jason Schutt saw him finish 6th overall: but the event belonged to French riders Thomas Diet and Romaine Raisson. Raisson just edged out his countryman in an inspiring freeski duel.

Frederik Lutkyis secured a place in the Winter X-Games 2004 in the Verbier Ride SkierCross. Master course designer, Nicolas Voudroz, created a challenging and exciting course that drew the very best out of the riders.

The Verbier Ride Slopestyle was held in a specially enhanced La Chaux terrain park, shaped by Yannick and his Televerbier crew. The slopestyle saw the riders in chilled-out mood, as they sessioned the course, throwing down an increasingly complex mix of D-Spins, Misty Flips, Rodeos and Switch tricks. In the end Ben 'Skinner' Murphy came out on top, just ahead of the UK's Andy Bennett.
