Les 2 Alpes Championships
BUSC events, part of the British Universities
Snowsports Council has announced that this year's Championships
event in Les 2 Alpes, France, will be attended by over 2000 students
from over seventy Universities across Britain.
BUSC
is a national organisation that organises competitive and fun events
throughout the year for student skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.
The next event, "BUSC :: The Championships :: 03", will begin in
just under three weeks and there is plenty to look forward too.
Slalom, Big Air, Halfpipe, Super-G
The event features national-level competition in all the major ski
and snowboard dsciplines - everything from Slalom to Big Air via
Halfpipe and Super-G. BUSC is the only organisation in the UK that
runs a combined ski and board program, tailored to allow meaningful
competition for the top athletes and a chance to try out the sports
for those new to them.
2000 party people
As well as the four hundred competitiors, over 1600 other students
will be in resort to spectate, learn to ski or to enjoy the good-time
atmosphere that BUSC brings making this the single largest winter
sports festival in the UK calendar. BUSC is famed for its amazing
atmosphere, and with a music line-up that includes bands like The
Deftex, the Noize and Traveler performing alongside DJs like European
Scratch Champion Richie Ruftone and club nights like Give It Some!
and El Segundo, this year will be no exception
BUSC has benefited from great support this year from the snowsports
industry and from corporate partners such as Endsleigh, KPMG and
Garnier Ambre Solaire, allowing the event to grow beyond its purely
student roots. Furthermore, as a result of a partnership with the
O'Neill Brits (British Snowboarding Championships), an event that
will be hosted by Les 2 Alpes the week before BUSC, the organisers
expect the standard of competition to be higher than ever.
It's going to be huge...
Dan Craig, speaking for BUSC says "This year's championships event
is set to redefine the expectiations of student skiers and boarders.
Thanks to the 'can-do' attitiude of Les 2 Alpes, and the support
we have received from our sponsors and partners, we're confident
that we're ready to provide one of the best snowsports events in
Europe this winter".
