LES DEUX ALPES UPDATE

18 December 2001

"...that kind of thing never happened in Coventry"

Hi people.

Finally settled in at Les Deux Alpes and I'm impressed with the place. It's certainly different to what I normally associate with a ski resort. You won't go in need of anything here. There's plenty of great shops with cool gear at pretty good prices and the nightlife is supreme. You need to
make sure you bring enough spending cash with you because once you've seen the bars and restaurants, you won't want to stay in for a quiet evening.

The pubs are all picking up pace with an excellent atmosphere everywhere. Smokey Joes and The Secret are my recommendations at the moment. Everyone in Smokeys was lucky enough to get a free snowshot the other day when we got a sprinkling of snow, that kind of thing never happened at home in Coventry.

For the morning after you'll find that the mountains surrounding the town are amazing to look at and it'll certainly brighten your morning (or help to ease the hangover) when you look out of the window.

Unfortunately the snow is still pretty scarce at the moment so we're all waiting for a big storm. The lower slopes are mostly green but the glacier is in top shape with the snowboard park in superb condition with kickers the likes of which I have never seen before.

Right I'm off cos we're all much too busy at this time of the year and I'll be in touch soon.
