| KEYSTONE UPDATE |

The subject of my first sermon from Keystone, Colorado is doughnuts. Like most people I love a good doughnut, but in case it has escaped your notice, the hole in the middle is the least nourishing part. Just like Keystone's doughnut you look through the middle and all you see is blue, blue sky, whilst everywhere else is covered in a beautiful snowy-white frosting, and this is how it is with Breckenridge, Copper, Vail and Beaver Creek! If my analogy isn't working, let me tell you exactly how it is. When a storm comes our way, Vail seeds the clouds and the snow falls. Decreasing amounts falls on Copper, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and at Keystone we end up with zilch; hence, I live in the middle of a doughnut. Keystone has the same base that it started
the season with and about 60% less terrain open than at this
time last year. We are forecast for 2-4 inches tonight, but
we'll have to see if the cloud seeding meanies at Vail will
take all our snow yet again! Report from Sam Marfleet
