Well
it's over LOTS faster than we thought. Most people around
here would have it never end. We had no real traffic problems,
no huge disturbance in our lives. Everyone seemed to get on
quite nicely. It's difficult to judge how others saw the 19th
Winter Olympiad and I would be interested in knowing if we
came off as a bunch of sodding old puffs or not. Drop us a
line then and we'll chat.
As far as the athletes performance go, I don't think that
part changes much from one Olympics to the next. Lots of human
interest stories (Jimmy Shea), some surprises (Alain Baxter)
and some who choke (Michelle Quan). I enjoyed the bobsled
more than ever and if anyone sees the US Ski Team wandering
around the highlands in Scotland let them know they're a might
bit LATE.
Really
hope we made a good impression on the rest of the sporting
world. And to think we did it without using five of our largest
ski resorts (although the accommodations may have been used)
Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, The Canyons and Solitude in the
Cotton Wood Canyons were not used and not shown much on TV
that I saw either. So if you are thinking about a ski trip.....drop
me a line, maybe we'll hook up.
The best of wishes to all and especially good luck to the
Italians.
George
