CHATEL UPDATE

Blissfully crowd-free in Chatel

So the snow they promised us over the weekend failed to materialise. Hmm, what now? There's not even the prospect of any snow over the next couple of days to cheer us up either, although in light of their last forecast that may not be such a bad thing…

It's not quite all doom and gloom though; the snow at Avoriaz is still in lovely condition and the runs are blissfully crowd-free. We took the lifts over there from Pre La Joux today and had an absolutely fantastic time.

The blue run down to Lindarets is looking distinctly spring-like (see photo left) and it's questionable how much longer it can remain open. Apart from the run back from Avoriaz to Lindarets which is still great, the runs back over to Chatel are looking seriously grim now.

To make matters worse, the Foehn - a warm south westerly wind (!) - arrived today. Joy oh joy. Looking on the bright side, the snow park at Les Crosets was reported to be great today, it's absolutely baking hot, the skies are blue and there's always the rent a mountain bike option if things get really desparate…
