SERRE CHEVALIER REPORT

17 January 2002

Snow Report:

Our last snow fall 2 weeks ago but was not enough to open up any of the upper slopes. The resort is still working exremely hard with the snow cannons to mantain good artificial runs. A link between Chantemerme and Villeneuve is now open and they opened up several more new pistes at the beginning of the week.

Resort Report:

For the next 3 weeks the resort is busy with the British Army, each year Serre Chevalier plays host to the British Army Ski Championships, so if anyone fancies meeting a solider now is the time to visit! Their favorite hang outs tend to be Le Frog and Bam-Bams in Villeneuve.

Apart from that the resort is fairly quiet at the moment. Still no snow, the resort are doing a very good job to maintain the artifical runs and several more pistes were opened up for the first time this season at the beginning of the week. There is now a link open between Chantemerle and Villeneuve, and the ski buses are running every 20 minutes to link into the other parts of the resort (free with the lift pass).

Lift passes are still being sold at a reduced rate - for a weeks pass for the full area passes are currently being sold for 129€.
