LA TANIA REPORT

28 January 2002

Some new snow (at last) has seen rare sightings of some locals actually out on the mountains for a change.

The news of Alpine Mega Band Shibboleth's gear getting nicked down at Bride les Bains (around £10,000 worth of guitars, amp, drums etc) has shocked their loyal Tuesday night following - apparently they'll be back soon after a quick jaunt to Germany to pick up some new gear and a new band member.

Meanwhile George (aka Bjorn from the Abba tribute band Bjorn Again) has spent the enforced break forging relationships with Chabi Vacance and Monkey Hangars from FFS. Bodo has escaped so far from the mad Welsh woman and bassist Colin has been surprisingly quiet (or unusually discrete) on the Ladies front - oh to be a Rock Star eh?

you wishSeventies night DJ (see photo with a holidaying lap dancer - honest!) DoubleDex is still craving after a certain barmaid who nearly accepted a date from him before seeing him throwing up behind the DJ console.

He has also failed to fix his jeep (it's got 4 wheel drive you know) and prolonged his stay along with all the other people he was supposed to be driving home.

The faithful Ski Lodge transportation the Sanyong (that's never how it's spelt) jeep that once got 14 people back from Dicks has been hit by the beer lorry and is currently out of action - that nightmare walk back from Dicks could become a reality.

This Tuesday sees Toss the Boss night at the Ski Lodge as it's T. Wall's birthday - simply do heads or tails to see if you pay or not. Last year I was wrong 5 times in a row but bought bigger rounds each time in an effort to break even... Standby for a very rowdy La Tania crowd hitting Dicks in Meribel around 1am Wednesday morning.

Unfortunately I'm currently back in the UK for a bit, I understand that this morning the resort is covered in cloud, you can't even see across the piste, the paths are extremely slippery due to the frozen rainfall, there's no hot water in one of the big apartment blocks, and the cash point machine isn't working.

I know where I'd rather be though,
Toffa
