Discover the UK's biggest travel and sports show
Want to raft the white waters of the world or simply walk along
trails less travelled? Want to blaze a trail across Africa or just
move quietly among different people in new places? Whether you want
to make history or only rediscover it, The Adventure
Travel and Sports Show is the place to find new challenges in
2003.
The
show brings over 250 top outdoor specialists together, and has a
three-day programme of talks where dozens of adventurers, from solo
explorers, writers and river-runners to expedition leaders, photographers
and divers, invite you to join in their experiences. For the best
advice on travel issues, from health & safety to better photography,
you can visit the Wanderlust Travel Advice Theatre, where veteran
adventurers and travel professionals will be sharing their experience.

Arctic Simulation Chamber
Throughout the show, visitors will be able to find out what it's
like to work and survive in the sub-zero temperatures of the North
Pole. Feel the effect of wind chill at -30°C, find out what to wear
in -50°C - or if you'd rather stay outside in the warm, you can
watch the Arctic volunteers in the simulation chamber on plasma
screens, and use the audio links to ask them questions and set them
tasks! The film company Black Diamond will be showing the excellent
film The Frontline: Ski Movie III thoughout the show.

The virtual experiences on offer at
the show mean that you can really get to grips with adventure. Get
a feel for hang-gilding's appeal on the full-size simulator, or
take on the Rock and compete with other climbers as you tackle legendary
climbs like K2 or the north face of the Eiger on our rolling climbing
wall. You can push yourself to the extreme on the amazing ice climbing
wall or try a guided dive in the show's scuba pool with some of
the UK's most experienced divers.
