TIGNES CABLE CAR BROKEN

Although the snow situation is good, Tignes has reported that the cable car on the glacier has had to be closed due to a broken cable.

The problem occured due to the exceptionally cold nights last week, with warm days, and the heavy build up of ice and consequent thaw has damaged the cable.

The Tourist Office currently predicts that the cable car will be out of action for 'une bonne semaine', but advised that it could be up to a month.

Until then access to the glacier is still possible via the funicular using the t-bars.
