Die-hard early season skiers and snowboarders now have three places
to hit the slopes.
USA Resorts open early
Copper Mountain opened some of its runs on Friday. Wolf Creek opened
Thursday, and Loveland has been up and running for more than two
weeks now.
Copper Mountain opened two more trails on Saturday,
in addition to the Main Vein Trail, which opened Friday. The base
snow depth was 21 inches.Copper wasn't set to open until later in
November, but the natural snowfall combined with machine-made snow
got the resort off to an early start.
Two feet in two days
In a few more weeks, several other ski areas will open their slopes.
Vail is set to open on Nov. 22, followed by Beaver Creek on Nov.
23. The area received over two feet of snow in 48 hours earlier
in the week. Both resorts are helping Mother Nature along by making
their own snow, too.
