| AUTUMN IN VAL D'ISERE | 30 September 2002 |

There are some fabulous walks around Val, some incredible views and plenty of wildlife to keep you on your toes. We sat and had lunch in the middle of a large clan of marmottes who whistled constantly, which became somewhat disturbing after a while. We escaped unscathed however, and managed to make it to the new lift station in the centre of town. This will be a huge improvement, taking around 2500 people an hour up the mountain in cars carrying around 20 people each.
There was plenty of alcohol to be found, and the Val crowd had gathered for a night of (very dirty) stories around the fire. By midnight though, a few people had clearly not kept up the pace through the summer months and the vodka got the better of them. Better get in training lads - the season is nearly upon us!
