Never seen a marmotte??? These charming creatures feature all over the Alps, but in the winter retreat into hibernation and are rarely sighted.

This pic was taken earlier this month by our roving reporter Phin in Val d'Isere.

Anyone with a burning desire to see more of our furry friends, should check out the Marmot's Paradise (honestly!) in Rochers de Naye, Switzerland. All seven - count them, that's seven! - species roam in the park, and you can check them out in their burrows as well.
